It’s a voyage and a milestone that’s been years in the making. For the very first time since we announced her chosen name and construction in September 2017, our newest luxury yacht, the MV Theory has finally set sail, and the experience was everything we and our guests have imagined these past 20 some-odd months.

With the maiden voyage of luxury expedition yacht Theory finally in the books, we here at Ecoventura are pleased and honored to usher in a new era of eco-conscious tourism, exploration and leisure, all against the backdrop of these storied Galapagos Islands.

Theory of Adventure

MV Theory has her roots in Galapagos history, inheriting her namesake from Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Identical to sister ship MV Origin, the Theory is a 20-passenger mega-yacht featuring 10 premium cabins with minimalistic chic design, all located on the same deck.

To connect guests with the Galapagos’ one-of-a-kind wildlife, each room features two large panoramic windows, as well as a private bathroom with essential modern luxuries, including a rainfall shower, hairdryer, plush towels, bathrobes, and eco-friendly biodegradable soaps and shampoos.

The Theory includes the same onboard amenities that guests of the Origin have grown to enjoy, including a concierge, fitness center, a spacious sundeck with chic loungers and daybeds, an open-bar policy, free satellite Wi-Fi, and a Jacuzzi.

Guests can also enjoy locally inspired Ecuadorian cuisine from the comfort of the ship’s dining room or in an al-fresco setting on the sundeck.  Theory additionally offers sustainable, plant-based vegetarian and gluten-free meals, catering to a variety of food preferences.

In September 2018 we were honored when Origin became one of only 21 new members selected to join the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Association.
