The last few months should have been peak summer travel season for many of us, particularly for families. But given the pandemic has grounded countless flights across the globe, shuttered hotels and left so many bars, restaurants and other attractions devoid of life, the vast majority of us have had to forego our annual summer holiday, or worse – make do with a stay-cation in a leaky tent!
So now you can finally begin planning your Next Big Trip.
Given all that we’ve been through so far in 2020, why not make it a Festive Season Trip-of-a-Lifetime voyage to finish the year on a high?
We currently have our yachts available for both private charters and individual cabins for both of our week-long festive voyages:
December 20 – 28: Itinerary A
December 27 – 03 January: Itinerary B
Both offer the chance to see the incredible wildlife the Galapagos are so famous for, as well as the stunning landscapes of this magical archipelago.
What’s more, these weeks normally sell out up to two years in advance, but given the events that have unfolded in 2020 there is still availability for this year – act fast so you don’t miss out!
If you can’t decide between the two itineraries, let past guest Cristina Anderson help you choose, or follow her lead and do both routes back-to-back for the ultimate trip of a lifetime.
Regardless of which route you choose, our Relais & Chateaux cuisine and huge choice of land excursions and water activities will keep even the most energetic entertained.
In fact, our voyages are ideal for family and multi-generational small groups, with something for everyone offering the perfect opportunity to share the festive season at a bucket list destination with loved ones young and old.
In line with countries across South America, the festive season is widely celebrated here in the Galapagos, with a great emphasis on the food!
Along with the traditional roast turkey, in the Galapagos two other dishes are typically eaten at this time of year: Hornado de Chancho (an Ecuadorian specialty of roasted pork leg marinated with garlic and beer) and Pernil Lojano (pork loin marinated in bitter orange juice, onion, garlic, achiote, cloves, cinnamon, cumin and panela and slow roasted in the oven for several hours).
Our luxury ships – the only Relais & Chateaux vessels in the Galapagos – are decorated especially for the festive weeks, with a Christmas Tree, sparkling lights and other decorations to help get into the festive spirit.
Bringing the kids? Don’t worry, Santa knows his way to the Galapagos and the Captain has been known to hand out gifts for any children on board – this is the perfect week to enjoy with all the family!
Navigate through the New Year
The following week gives you the chance to see in 2021 on an unforgettable adventure, sailing the seas of the Galapagos.
What better way to start the year than snorkeling with sea lions, kayaking across crystal clear seas or sinking your feet into soft, white sand, followed by champagne toasts on board to celebrate in style?
A time for giving
As an early Christmas present from us, for bookings made for the two festive voyages the holiday supplement of $500 will be waived when guests purchase Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) insurance or a premium travel insurance policy such as Global Rescue’s IMG Signature Plus. What’s more, our standard booking terms will apply instead of the festive terms.
So if you want to enjoy the festive season on the high seas or would like to say goodbye to 2020 in style, feel free to get in touch with the team and we would be delighted to make you and your family’s dreams come true!
