Private Moments is perfect for anyone celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary and for guests who appreciate a more intimate experience while on a luxury expedition cruise vacation. This is available onboard the MV ORIGIN and on the MV THEORY both identical yachts are part of the esteemed Relais & Chateaux collection. 

The Private Moments Experience

Feedback from our guests is very important in order to continue meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations. We take every comment and review into consideration when we design our new luxury expedition yachts and considered ways to expand our services. Based on guest feedback over the past three decades, we have curated services for passengers who want a truly unique experience while in the Galapagos.

The Private Moments experience begins at the airport for guests who arrive on our reserved flight with Avianca.  We will upgrade you and your guests to business class seats and provide private VIP transfers to and from the airport in San Cristobal for a pleasant, stress-free beginning and end to your adventure in the Galapagos (B/C seats depend on availability).  

Once you arrive onboard, you will find a welcome basket with a personalized note from your travel designer in your deluxe stateroom, a box of Ecuadorian chocolates, local fruits, and a unique item from the onboard boutique.

We offer two naturalist guides for every ten guests (the lowest guide/guest ratio in the Galapagos), but this package goes above and beyond by providing you and your travel companion with a private naturalist guide.

You will have the guide’s full attention to ask questions and learn more about the flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands from an expert.

If you purchase this package while traveling on Itinerary A only, enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Charles Darwin Research Station. The CDF is a highlight for many of our passengers where they can learn about the breeding projects in place to restore both animal and plant populations on the islands. During your private tour, you will see collections of scientific research and learn about conservation efforts on Santa Cruz Island with a representative from CDF.

Romance On Board

After an exciting day exploring the islands with your private naturalist guide, you and your guest can enjoy fine cuisine and beverages of choice from our open bar. If you prefer to have your evening meal in a more intimate setting, we can arrange for a private table for two in our dining room. 

The highlight of our Private Moments package is surely the private zodiac ride with our captain at sunset for you and your guest. Share a bottle of wine (red, white, or sparkling) and savor the beauty of the islands. This private zodiac ride is offered one time during your trip. At Baroness Point, Floreana for Itinerary A and Tagus Cove, Isabela for Itinerary B.

The next part was going out on a panga (a small boat) with just our ship’s captain and Freddie, one of the ship’s naturalists. Freddie had a guitar and sang two Spanish songs to us, one of which was my absolute favorite song, “Besame Mucho.” The second was one that my husband, Michael, recognized from when he was a kid. They brought drinks for us, and we went out before sunset, and it was totally magical. We loved it.”

• A private naturalist guide just for you and your travel companions
• Private VIP transfers to/from the airport in San Cristobal (only on our allotment flights with Avianca)
• Upgrade to Business class seats on Avianca flight to SCY (only on our allotment flights) if available at the time of confirmation
• A private zodiac ride at sunset including a bottle of wine with our Captain offered one time during the week (on A at Baroness Point, Floreana or on B at Tagus Cove, Isabela
• A private behind the scenes tour of the Charles Darwin Station (Itinerary A only).  See collections of scientific research on Santa Cruz Island with a representative from CDF
