ITINERARY

Reception and assistance at Lima airport upon arrival at 10:30PM on LATAM flight1455 from Quito, followed by a short walk to Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima Airport conveniently located at the airport.

Assistance and a short walk to the airport. Departure to Cusco on LATAM flight.Upon arrival, reception and transfer to Tambo del Inka, a Luxury CollectionResort & Spa Urubamba at the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, stop at Awanakancha, a weaving project of Andean communities where you will seethe four American Camelidae (alpaca, llama, vicuna, guanaco). Learn about their wools and the ancestral techniques of weaving. Visit the village of Pisac and their handicraft market and the Inkairy Museum with pre-Columbian cultures on display.The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude.

Excursion to Maras to see the salt mines from the Inca period and still in use today,and to Moray, an agricultural center, followed by lunch and a visit to the fortressand town of Ollantaytambo, the last living Incan town. Transfer to the train station for a scenic 1 ½ hour trip through the Urubamba Valley departing at 3:37PM on the Vistadome train to the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo arrival at 5:02PM. Dinner and overnight at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in town at the base of the mountain.

Take a 30-minute bus ride up to the breathtaking Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Private guided tour through the ruins, followed by lunch at Tinkuy restaurant (next to Belmond SanctuaryLodge). Afternoon, departure to the Ollantaytambo train station departing 4:22PM on the Vista dome train and arriving to Cusco at 6:10PM. Transfer to the Palacio delInka, a Luxury Collection Hotel Cusco for two nights.

Explore the beautiful city of Cuzco, with well-preserved colonial architecture, and once the capital of the Inca Empire, and center of the indigenous Quechua culture in the Andes. A guided private tour includes the Plaza de Armas (the main square),the baroque Santo Domingo Convent, built on the top of the Incan Temple of theSun (Qoricancha), and the surrounding ruins of Pukapukara (red fort), Qenko, Tampomachay, and the renowned fortress and religious site of Sacsayhuaman famous for its cosmic energy. The afternoon is at leisure.

Transfer to the airport in Cusco for flight to Lima on LATAM. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the El Pardo Doubletree by Hilton Lima. At 2PM, tour Lima’s main colonial sites: The Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, Government and Archbishop Palaces.We also visit the private Larco Museum with unique gold and silver collection, pottery vessels and erotic ceramics from pre-Inca civilizations. Drive throughLima’s modern residential areas: San Isidro and Miraflores with its “Parque delAmor” and ocean views. Transfer to the airport for your flight if you are booked on a red-eye or to the hotel if you have a Saturday morning DEPARTURE.
