Introducing Ecoventura Guides — Cecibel Guerrero and Gustavo Andrade

AUTHOR Daniel Andino

Whether on board the Eric & Letty, or the MV ORIGIN, your Ecoventura cruise will be a balance of relaxation and exploration. On each cruise, passengers are offered a variety of activities including: guided nature walks, snorkeling, kayaking, standup paddle boarding and zodiac tours. Our objective is to ensure you discover the diversity, nature and beauty of the Galapagos Islands in small groups — Ecoventura provides one naturalist guide for every 10 passengers, the lowest ratio found in Galapagos, to ensure intimate, up-close wildlife encounters for our guests.

Our naturalists have been carefully selected and are the most knowledgeable experts in the industry. Not only are they fluent in English, but will passionately share their knowledge and love for one of the world’s most unique and special places during your stay.

This week, we want to introduce you to two of our spectacular guides, Cecibel Guerrero and Gustavo Andrade (currently serving MV ORIGIN passengers)! Learn more about Cecibel and Gustavo below…

Galapagos Islands, Nature Guides, Cecibel & Gustavo (1)

Cecibel Guerrero

Ecuadorian born, Ceci spent 15 years living in Toronto, Canada, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. After completing a training program with the Galapagos National Park Service and the Charles Darwin Research Station, she obtained her naturalist guide license and guided for nine years, until 2001. She took a break to have two children but returned to work in the islands in 2008. Ceci’s favorite activity while guiding is snorkeling, but she also has a special interest in reptiles and is enthusiastic about sharing the Galapagos – the place she loves best – with our guests. “If you love wildlife, people and photography, this is the ideal job for you,” she says. “I feel blessed and honored to work in one of the most pristine places on Earth.”

Gustavo Andrade

Part of the third generation of a local family from San Cristóbal, Gustavo was raised in Guayaquil but has always maintained close links to the Galapagos. His father worked as a tour boat captain, and Gustavo considers himself blessed to have been exposed to nature from the age of seven. An industrial engineer by training, Gustavo has been a naturalist guide for the Galapagos National Park since 2005 – one of the very best experiences of his life.
